1984贵州大学化学系，理学学士；1991贵州大学化学系，理学硕士；1999四川大学高分子材料系，工学博士；2001至2004年，日本东京工业大学资源化学研究所,日本学术振兴学会(JSPS)特别研究员；2004年入选中国科学院“百人计划”,现为中国科学院上海有机所高分子研究室研究员，博士生导师。
研究方向：
以有机合成为基础，研究获得的有机功能材料的光学、电学、力学和耐热性能，期望其在新型显示、新能源、极大规模集成电路和高性能纤维复合材料制造中得到应用。
